Don’t Worry, Be Happy | The Important Rules To Follow In Life

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

As the popular 1988 song entitled Don’t Worry Be Happy so nonchalantly declared, we should all agonize less. Worry eats-up so much time in our lives, and it does nothing useful. Stress is a destructive emotion, and the sooner we learn to manage it, the better. Here are some ways you can control being consumed with worry.

Worry Is Useless

Yes, worrying may show that we are concerned about something or someone, but what does it achieve? It only raises anxiety levels and even has severe physiological consequences. Stress affects us physically and can wear us down.

Think Positive

How many times have we heard this to the point that is has become a cliché? A positive outlook will always result in a more agreeable outcome. Optimism is a great outlook to carry in life.

Worry Breeds Paralysis

When one is consumed with panic, there is a tendency to do nothing. Stress and fear can push us into unproductively and paralysis. Shake off agonizing if you want to be a doer.

Be Proactive

Often times people who agonize a lot are those twiddling their thumbs. Don’t just sit around and wait for things to resolve themselves. There is always something you can do to help resolve any issue that may be causing any anxiety.

Learn To Live In the Present

Worrying is also a result of an overly fertile mind that second-guesses the future. Learn to focus more on what is currently going on in your life. So much time is wasted, anticipating future scenarios that never materialize.

Be Pragmatic

Nothing always goes our way. That is a fact of life. A great athlete once said that his secret was not how good he was, but rather how well he managed terrible days. We all thrive under ideal circumstances, but real winners are the ones who rise above adversity.

Instead Of Worry Invest Your Mind In Meditation Or Prayer

Learn to occupy your mind with more positive thoughts like prayer or meditation if you find yourself drifting into stress. Many ancient teachings, both secular and religious, espouse the futility of worry. Most of them offer uplifting lessons to help us cope with it.

So as the popular song goes, Don’t worry, be happy and may you have more worry-free days in your life.
